District 3 Football Preview: CV vs. Dallastown

Buckskins try for two upsets in two weeks against undefeated Wildcats.

Details: (16) Conestoga Valley at (1) Dallastown - 7pm

Sr. RB Derek Burkholder
About the Bucks: Entering the final week of the regular season CV needed a win and a whole lot of help to get in to the Quad-A District 3 bracket. They got the victory, handing L-S its first loss of the season 33-21, and then learned that Central York, South Western and Central Dauphin East had all lost. The Bucks were in.

Conestoga Valley (5-5, 5-2 in Section 2) had a heart attack-inducing regular season, with seven games decided by a touchdown or less. The Bucks average 267 yards per game on offense, while allowing 291. The offense is led by dual-threat quarterback Alex Dienner (961 yards passing, 454 yards rushing, 17 total TD) and running back Derek Burkholder (819 yards, 5.4 avg, 7 TD).

CV won the District 3 Triple-A title in 1991 and has played in four other championship games.

Top-seed Dallastown (10-0)
About the Wildcats: Starting with a Week One comeback victory over Warwick, Dallastown went undefeated during the regular season en route to the York-Adams Division I title. The Wildcats have never played in the District 3 championship game.

Dallastown averages 28.0 points per game while the Wildcats give up just 11.7 points per game. Their leading rusher is Ryan Behrmann (757 yards, 5.8 avg, 8 TD) and linebacker Ben Kline, the leading tackler, is a Pitt recruit.
